Betrayal Of America Part 9 is about election security breaches and the political complicity of both the Republican and Democratic parties and politicians who fail to stand up to Trump and for our democracy and the United States Constitution.
If you are reading my Betrayal Of America series, I know you love this country and understand our democracy is in grave danger. The facts prove that Trump tried to rig the 2020 election and is currently trying to change the maps to silence the votes of Blacks and Latinos regarding the 2026 midterms and beyond. He also wants to eliminate mail-in voting.
Trump is talking about running for a third term, which would be yet another violation of the Constitution.
Donald Trump had four years to figure out how he was going to stay out of jail. In addition, he cozied up with Elon Musk and his Tech Bros. God only knows what they did behind closed doors before and after the 2024 election.
We are at the forefront of the good AI will bring to this world, or the evil in the hands of bad actors and bad bots. The classics are always relevant: Money is the root of all evil.

What if Kamala Harris was the real winner of the 2024 election?
2026 Midterms
I believe the 2026 midterm elections will determine if American democracy survives or if White Supremacy and Fascism win. Billionaires already won. The outcome depends on your vote, and that is why this post is so important.
Voter Complicity
Voters can also be politically complicit. Our civic responsibility is to do our research before any election to make informed decisions about political candidates. If you do not research political candidates or choose not to vote, then your choice contributes to whatever injustices are committed by the government. I just wanted to give you a heads-up on something to think about. 🤔
Political Complicity
Political complicity is a total betrayal of the American spirit, whether you vote Republican or Democrat. It refers to the willingness of individuals, parties, or institutions to support, enable, cave to threats and lawsuits, or remain silent in the face of unethical or authoritarian government.
The Consequences Of Political Complicity
- Politicians, Corporate Media, and Institutions fail to stand up and demand that corrupt behavior be prosecuted.
- Unethical and unlawful behavior becomes the norm because there is no legal accountability.
- Economic and civil unrest, lies, conspiracy theories, and violent rhetoric fuel division and possible violent acts.
- Complicity destroys trust because promises made by politicians never come true.
- Self-serving political wealth and interests play a crucial role in the rise of oppressive regimes.
November 2024 Letter To Vice President Kamala Harris
As promised in Betrayal Of America Part 8, below is the November 13, 2024, letter written to Vice President Kamala Harris and signed by seven election security experts (associated with Free Speech for People) regarding serious election security breaches regarding the November 4, 2024, election.
(I have highlighted certain statements in the letter to emphasize the most important takeaways. The original letter did not have the words in bold.)
“The Honorable Kamala Harris, Office of the Vice President, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20500
Dear Vice President Harris,
We write to alert you to serious election security breaches that have threatened the security and integrity of the 2024 elections, and to identify ways to ensure that the will of the voters is reflected and that voters should have confidence in the result. The most effective manner of doing so is through targeted recounts requested by the candidate.
In the light of the breaches we ask that you formally request hand recounts in at least the states of Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. We have no evidence that the outcomes of the elections in those states were actually compromised as a result of the security breaches, and we are not suggesting that they were.
But binding risk-limiting (RLAs) or hand recounts should be routine for all elections, especially when the stakes are high and the results are close. We believe that, under the current circumstances when massive software breaches are known and documented, recounts are necessary and appropriate to remove all potential doubt and to set an example for security best practices in all elections.
In 2022, records, video camera footage, and deposition testimony produced in a civil case in Georgia disclosed that its voting system, used statewide, had been breached over multiple days by operatives hired by attorneys for Donald Trump. The evidence showed that the operatives made copies of the software that runs all the equipment in Georgia, and certain other states, and shared it with other Trump allies and operatives.
Subsequent court filings and public records requests revealed that the breaches in Georgia were part of a larger effort to take copies of voting system software from systems in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Arizona, and to share the software in the operatives’ network.
According to testimony and declarations by some of the technicians who have obtained copies of the software, they have had access for more than three years to the software for the central servers, tabulators, and highly restricted election databases of both Election Systems & Software (ES&S), and Dominion Voting Systems, the two largest voting system vendors, constituting the most severe election security breach publicly known.
Combined, their equipment counts nearly 70% of all votes nationwide. Ninety-six percent of Arizona voters use Dominion and ES&S equipment; 100% of Georgia voters vote on Dominion machines; 98% of Nevada votes on Dominion voting machines and the remainder uses ES&S; 69% of Michigan voters’ ballots are counted on Dominion or ES&S equipment; 89% of Pennsylvania voters ballots are counted on Dominion or ES&S equipment; ES&S counts 92% of North Carolina ballots; and either ES&S or Dominion counts 97% of Wisconsin votes.
Possessing copies of the voting system software enables bad actors to install it on electronic devices and to create their own working replicas of the voting systems, probe them, and develop exploits. Skilled adversaries can decompile the software to get a version of the source code, study it for vulnerabilities, and could even develop malware designed to be installed with minimal physical access to the voting equipment by unskilled accomplices to manipulate the vote counts.
Attacks could also be launched by compromising the vendors responsible for programming systems before elections, enabling large scale distribution of malware.
In December 2022 and again in 2023, many of us, concerned by the security risks posed by these breaches, wrote to the Attorney General (Merrick Garland), FBI Director (Christopher Wray), and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director (Jen Easterly) outlining the security concerns and urging an investigation. Though there have been limited, localized investigations (14), there is no evidence of a federal investigation to determine what was done with the misappropriated voting software.
Other relevant parties have pointed to the serious risks posed by the misappropriation of the voting software. Before it was known that partisan operatives had taken the software, Dominion Voting Systems objected vehemently to providing its software to the same partisan actors who ultimately got copies through voting system breaches, stating that to give its software to biased actors would cause “irreparable damage” to the “election security interests of the country.”
Before the breaches in Georgia had been confirmed, the Georgia Secretary of State’s chief information officer testified that having copies of the software would provide a “road map” to the ways the system could be assessed. The Georgia Attorney General opposed providing copies of the software to lawyers for the Trump campaign in a late 2020 election challenge, arguing that images of the voting system software would provide “the keys to the software kingdom.”
Notably, U.S. elections are potentially resilient because there are paper ballots recording the voters’ intent in most states, meaning that even if the voting system is at risk, the will of the voters can be determined reliably by recounting the paper ballots by hand (although we are aware that not all paper ballots are verified by the voter, and not all states take adequate care to protect the ballot chain of custody.)
Audits will be conducted in some of the most scrutinized states, but in key states they will not be conducted in a timely way that could reveal any concerns with the vote count.
In addition, in most states the audits are insufficiently rigorous to ensure any potential errors in tabulation will be caught and corrected, and they cannot be considered a safeguard against the security breaches that have occurred.
Specifically, Georgia’s audits are non-binding, and Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin laws do not provide that the audit be conducted before certification. Therefore, it would be impossible to know for these critical states if the audits uncovered errors or miscalculations before the state deadlines to seek recounts.
Among swing states, only Arizona’s audit laws ensure that, if enough discrepancies are identified, the audit hand count will be expanded to correct a potentially incorrect result. In other words, aside from Arizona, in contested states, there is no legal mechanism for the audit to correct the outcome, no matter how much error the audit uncovers.
*Given these facts, the only guarantee for rigorous, effective audits of the vote in the swing states will be through candidate-requested statewide hand recounts.
*The facts around the voting system breaches are not disputed; it is well-documented that there were severe, multiple voting security breaches before the 2024 election.
*To ensure that voters can have confidence that the breaches in security did not taint the results of the 2024 election, we recommend pursuing hand recounts in, at a minimum, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, as they will provide insufficient safeguards against threats posed by the breaches of the election software and will not provide important information in a timely way.“

VP Kamala Harris Chose Not To Call For Recounts
I can only imagine what it felt like to be the most qualified presidential candidate but have to certify Donald Trump, an Insurrectionist, convicted felon, adjudicated sexual offender, and Dictator on Day One, as the next President of the United States, instead of her.
Since she was a prosecutor and civil servant for 35 years, I wonder if she regrets not calling for a recount, as the best election security experts in our country clearly warned her. With her years of experience prosecuting felons, that decision makes no sense to me. I think she let her friendship and loyalty to Joe Biden cloud her professional courage and judgment. Her decision was also an act of political complicity.
Despite the January 6, 2021, Insurrection led by Trump, followed by his 62 subsequent frivolous Big Lie lawsuits and Stop The Steal propaganda, the unresolved election software breaches in 2020-2021, and the cybersecurity warnings in 2022, 2023, and 2024, the Democratic Party did not make election security a priority or question the election. Big Mistake. This decision of the Democratic Party was also an act of political complicity.
The Republicans can always count on the Democrats to do the “right thing” at their own demise. It’s a political web that always works to the GOP’s advantage because they value cash and their careers over the Constitution.
At least the Democrats have compassion for people and have passed more laws for Americans than against them, unlike the Republicans.
Democratic Lack Of Leadership
At this point in history, millions of Americans feel we’ve been lied to for decades. All our lives, we have heard from politicians that “every vote counts” or “no one is above the law, not even the President.”
Wonder Why 88,330,197 Registered Voters Did Not Vote In 2024?
A current poll reveals that Democrats are polling 33% Favorable; 60.5% Unfavorable.
Trump is polling 40% Favorable; 54.3 Unfavorable.
Imagine that. Democrats are polling lower than an Insurrectionist, convicted felon, adjudicated sexual abuser, authoritarian, etc. Another Big Problem!
Consider the reasons for the low polling numbers:
- The Democrats impeached Trump twice during his first term, but were ineffective in their ability to remove him from office.
- The Democrats failed miserably after the January 6 Insurrection to hold Trump legally accountable and arrest him for leading the assault on our democracy and the Capitol. Americans and the world watched the horror and beating of the brave police force trying to protect others because Trump could not accept that Joe Biden beat him. If a Democrat had led an attack on the Capitol, that person would have been arrested immediately.
- Joe Biden failed to investigate The Epstein Files and the international sex trafficking network connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
- The Supreme Court made its immunity ruling for presidential official acts while Joe Biden was still in office. He should have done more with that power to protect our democracy.
- The Democrats did not take a leadership position regarding voter machine manipulation to ensure free and fair elections in all future elections.
- The Democrats waited until the last minute to announce that Joe Biden would not be running for president again in 2024 and that Kamala Harris would be their candidate, which left her with 107 days to campaign
- Some Democrats have even voted for Donald Trump’s Fascist policies since his second term began. Just another form of political complicity because the bottom line is that those politicians care more about their careers than the constituents who voted them into office.
- The Democrats lack a unifying ideology and progressive leadership. They seem to have chosen that seniority is above all other considerations. In the Democratic Party, “Wait your turn” does not seem to happen for decades. My prediction is that the Democrats will remain disconnected from the majority of young voters and other voters who expect their leaders to include them and fight for them.
- It appears that the DNC has a problem endorsing candidates that their base genuinely wants, and also struggles to recruit new members.
Here is an example of two intelligent and insightful Americans who have excellent ideas and are passionate about helping people, and who have tried to work with the Democratic Party and the DNC (Democratic National Committee).
All the DNC ever had to do was develop a bold, progressive plan that prioritizes workers, families, and communities over billionaires and corporations, combined with a plan to make it happen. Then repeat it over and over again. Why in the world is that difficult and beyond your consideration?
Do you not notice how the masses of people show up for Bernie and AOC? They know how to connect with all people because they are a visual of the experienced mentoring the young leaders of the future. Their passion for liberty and justice for all is powerful and unites people.
Republicans Have The Power To End This Destruction Of Our Democracy Right Now.
The Republicans are also responsible for many Americans who did not vote in 2024. Please read the Betrayal of America series, Parts 1-8, for all the details.
The Republican Party has done all of Trump’s dirty work since 2016, and their party wins the prize for the most political complicity and corruption ever. Trump promises every single thing he knows his base wants to hear, as history shows. The only promise he kept the second time around was being a Dictator on Day One.
I do think the Republicans made two colossal errors in judgment. They assumed their voters would remain loyal to Trump no matter what, at the expense of their own family’s well-being. Also, I believe the majority of Americans feel strongly about children being raped and used for sex trafficking, and that the guilty should be prosecuted.
Elected Democrats and Republicans, you cannot serve two masters. Either you are for all American families and workers and put them first, or you are for corporate funding and billionaires so that you can keep your cushy jobs with no accountability.
Norms and traditions are not laws, and how self-serving that breaking a sworn Oath does not have any legal consequences. It should, and the consequence should be immediate removal followed by prosecution. The foundation of our Constitution is liberty and justice for all.
Although I have voted Republican before, that will never happen again. The trust is forever broken for me.
