Throughout my lifetime, I have occasionally voted for Republican or Democratic candidates, depending on whether their values and vision for America aligned with my own. Betrayal of America Part 3 sheds light on the mental health issues of Donald Trump’s malignant narcissism, delusions of grandeur, and projection that affect his presidency.
I hoped that Donald Trump being elected for a second term would show that he is genuinely grateful that God spared his life from an assassination attempt. He said people told him he was saved so he could make America great again.
Sadly, according to a March 6, 2025, article by ABC News, more than 100 lawsuits have already been filed against him. I wonder how much money Trump’s barrage of Executive Orders and resulting lawsuits will cost the American people because he believes the Constitution and the Rule of Law do not apply to him.
In my opinion, 100 days into Donald Trump’s second term, no president has betrayed America as much as he has since the United States July 4, 1776, Declaration of Independence.
For full disclosure, this is not an anti-Trump post, but rather a pro-justice and equality one. It is about the President’s mental health and his leadership abilities.
If you read my blog beginning with the first post about growing up near Chicago, Midwestern Backstory, you know the trauma and dysfunction I survived in my childhood. I am diagnosed with CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
During childhood, excessive praise or criticism, rejection by your parents, trauma, and developing a fragile ego increase the risk of developing Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Donald Trump is diagnosed with NPD.
What Donald Trump and I have in common is that we survived our painful childhoods. The difference is that we chose different paths and missions to complete.

I ask that you be open to the information presented so that you can better understand Donald Trump and how he thinks.

It continues: “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,-That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.“
The Stable Genius
To understand President 47, there are three things you need to know and understand to figure out why Trump thinks the way he does and makes his decisions. The questions are:
What is malignant narcissism?
What are delusions of grandeur?
What is projection?
Malignant Narcissism
More than 233 clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health care professionals have signed an open letter published in The New York Times. Part of the letter states that:
“Trump’s symptoms of severe, untreatable personality disorder, malignant narcissism, have rendered him deceitful, destructive, deluded, and dangerous as well as grossly unfit for leadership.”
At age 78, President Donald Trump has not released any meaningful medical records. He appears to be showing signs of cognitive decline that urgently call for a full neurological workup including a dramatic decrease in verbal fluency, tangential thinking (of little relevance), diminished vocabulary, confusing people (not just names), as well as exhibiting deteriorating judgment, impulse control, and motor functioning (including a wide-based gait).”
Those signing the document confirmed they “have an ethical duty to warn the public that Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy.”
John Gartner, Ph.D., a psychologist who taught at Johns Hopkins University Medical School for 28 years, stated: “Trump suffers from malignant narcissism, a diagnosis that is far more toxic and dangerous than mere narcissistic personality disorder because it combines narcissism with three other severely pathological components: paranoia (persecution complex), sociopathy (antisocial personality disorder), and sadism (gaining pleasure from inflicting pain). When combined, this perfect storm of psychopathology defines the quintessence of evil”.
To diagnose Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), a clinician needs to find at least five of the following criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders:

Delusions Of Grandeur
Delusions of Grandeur, also known as grandiose delusions, are a mental illness. Grandiose means majestic, glorious, extravagant, and awe-inspiring. They differ from religious or spiritual beliefs or a person’s faith. They are characterized by false beliefs about their greatness and an obsession with their power and importance.
According to the American Psychological Association, religious delusions can be “any delusion associated with religious content.” These delusions may involve a person believing they are a religious prophet or messiah. Since kings are often mentioned in the Bible fighting religious wars, I think this form of delusion also applies.
Individuals may believe they have a special relationship with a higher power or possess superhuman abilities. Their delusions might include believing that they can end world wars or that they are immortal. The strength of the delusions is the extent to which the person believes them to be true.
Related disorders that may relate to religious delusions are Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), Sleep Deprivation Psychosis (Trump has stated he sleeps about 4 hours per night), and Dementia. There is a history of Dementia in Donald Trump’s family. His father died from Alzheimer’s at the age of 93.
Unlike high self-esteem, the individual’s false beliefs persist even though their words and actions provide evidence that repeatedly contradict their claims.

Projection
Many politicians on both sides use projection as a shield from public investigation and having to answer questions about their proposed policies. Like alternative facts, it is an effective political strategy, but it can have long-lasting and harmful consequences.
Projection is a method of political defense in which politicians attribute their own feelings, motives, or insecurities onto others to avoid saying it to their opponent’s face. People in powerful positions who project their failures, mistakes, weaknesses, and scandals onto others want you to look over there to cast doubt on what is true and influence public perception.
Trump has a documented history of threats and retaliation. Over and over again, he lies about others’ wrongdoings even though he has committed the same, similar, or worse acts himself. His inflammatory remarks often incite violence. The tragic shock of January 6, 2020, stands out as a perfect example.
When he feels threatened by the truth coming out about himself, the name-calling to label his critics and opponents begins, like haters, fake, nasty woman, bad people, crazy, lawbreakers, and others. Then his MAGA base loyalists follow up with threats made to those individuals and often their family members that Trump has identified. Have you noticed?
Throughout history, there has always been a scapegoat. What Trump and the Republican Party are doing is convincing people that they are not doing as well as they wanted and that it’s somebody else’s fault. The “somebody” who always unfairly gets blamed is the Democrats.
Projection allows politicians to sidestep accountability, exploits people’s biases to create an easy scapegoat, deepens divisions, harms families and communities, and provides a get-out-of-jail-free card by using deflection rather than reflection about how to solve their constituents’ problems. It’s all about showmanship, manipulation, and spin.
The Democrats are not perfect, but at least they care about democratic values, their constituents, and work in Congress as advocates on behalf of all Americans. Here’s what you will never hear on Fox News:

What happened to the Republican Party that proudly boasted about being the Party of Lincoln, Personal Responsibility, and Family Values?
During Trump’s first 100 days, the campaign promises he said he would complete on Day One have not been kept.
He’s been too preoccupied with his I Am A King Narcissistic agenda that is taking away individual rights and earned benefits that actually matter and help Americans and their families.

Donald Trump’s Damaging Betrayals
Hillary’s Emails
- Russia has never been an ally to America or any other democratic nation. Trump won the 2016 election with Russian assistance. He and his loyalists lied about Hillary Clinton and aided and abetted Putin’s hack-and-leak attacks on her credibility and the United States.
- Trump encouraged Russia to hack Clinton’s emails in July 2016, and a few hours later, Russian hackers tried to do just that. The Clinton campaign issued warnings about Russian intervention, but its concerns were largely disregarded. Another win for lies and outlandish conspiracy theories, thanks to the cowardice of the GOP and the failure of American corporate media.
- Donald Trump was Putin’s pick over Hillary Clinton because she was the most qualified candidate with decades of experience as an attorney and civil servant. Putin knew that “nasty woman” would not be his comrade.
Trump Moscow Tower

- During the first campaign, he secretly negotiated a Trump Tower deal in Moscow that could have earned him hundreds of millions of dollars, and his company sought help from Putin’s office for this. In a recent article, “Moscow Times Stuns The World With Shocking Trump Bombshell,” the Kremlin confirmed that the Moscow Trump Tower is underway for Donald Trump’s dream project.
- Trump, the Republicans, Fox News, and other rightwing disinformation pushers promoted the false notion that Ukraine, not Russia, had intervened in the 2016 election to defend President Trump.
- Trump covered up his private Russian dealings while running for President. Maybe the Tower is why Trump is granting all of Putin’s wishes and selling out Ukraine’s future. Did you see how Donald Trump treated President Zelensky at their meeting in the White House recently?
COVID-19
- Those of us who were lucky to survive this horrific pandemic know Donald Trump never mourned the dead or took responsibility for the 450,000 Americans who perished on his watch because of the ineffective way he handled the crisis. Have you ever wondered why he was unable to show compassion or take responsibility?
- He even weaponized the one thing that would save a person’s life during COVID by claiming that wearing a mask was a violation of one’s rights! I suppose he considered wearing a mask a sign of weakness, rather than saving lives.
JANUARY 6, 2020 INSURRECTION
- Americans and the world watched in horror as Donald Trump directed his believers to do his bidding while he safely watched the violence taking place from the People’s White House, but did nothing.
- People died that fateful day because President Donald Trump, the malignant narcissist, could not handle that he had lost the 2020 election and left in defeat. To a narcissist, life is about winning at any cost, even when it includes other people’s lives or livelihoods.
- The message he sent that day was that he does not care about the Constitution, the Rule of Law, the Oath he took, norms or traditions, or the preservation of the nation’s democratic institutions. He only cares about himself.

2024 ELECTION “I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU. I ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR VOTE.”
- The greatest betrayal of all was during the first day of his second term, January 20, 2025, United States President Donald Trump granted pardons to nearly 1,600 people who attacked the United States Capitol on January 6. Imagine if a Democratic president had done that.
- MAGA, you should have believed him. Look at the lawlessness, cruelty, and fear he is responsible for in just 100 days. Are you and your family better off now than when Joe Biden was president?
- For ten years, Trump has tested the media, legal, and court systems to see how much he can get away with. He has shown our country and the world who he is. The United States does not matter to him, and your personal struggles do not matter to him.
- He said he would be a Dictator on Day One.
- Elections have consequences. You get who you vote for. Does it surprise you that a malignant narcissist, a convicted felon, a sexual abuser, and a habitual liar did not make good on his 2024 campaign promises?
- As we have all learned since the 2024 election, he is using his position and power to become a King and enrich himself and his loyal billionaire buddies.
- I encourage you to read Isaiah 29:13 from The Bible. The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”
- When you stand before the Creator to give account for your life, I don’t think “Because my Pastor who preached the Prosperity Gospel told me so” will be a compelling excuse for not living the teachings of Jesus.

The Trump Mission
Recently, I found this statement on Christianity Today:
“The president hasn’t publicly attended a church service since his inauguration day. He doesn’t hold membership in a particular congregation or denomination. He’s gone back and forth over whether he needs to ask for God’s forgiveness, and he avoids speaking in detail about his personal devotional life. So, what we know about Trump’s faith comes largely from the pastors around him at the White House, starting with Paula White-Cain.”
As President of the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth, Trump could have earned the entire world’s admiration by putting Jesus’ teachings into action.
“Woke” Jesus prayed for his enemies and lived a selfless life filled with love, empathy, kindness, and compassion for all. You could say Jesus founded DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). What did Trump do about DEI?

I hoped that Donald Trump would be a compassionate advocate like Jesus was for children, the elderly, the sick, the disabled, and those who were considered outcasts. Jesus cared about people who were hungry, poor, suffering, and grieving.
My research for this post shows that malignant narcissism, delusions of grandeur, and projection propaganda make it impossible for Donald Trump to live as an honest Christian or be a stable genius.
Returning to my comment at the beginning of this post about Donald Trump and me taking different paths and missions, I would like to explain the difference.
I chose to use the trauma and pain of my childhood and my gift of writing from God to be of service to other people. I also put myself into intensive therapy for weeks to learn how to be joyful again and keep moving forward. My mission has always been to help people.

Donald Trump chose money over mercy for his mission. He places no value on being in service to others. His decisions continue to harm people who are not part of his billionaire inner circle. That is the other significant difference between us. I suspect that Donald Trump thinks he is always right and would never consider therapy.
LONG LIVE THE KING

Official White House social media accounts posted an image of President Donald Trump wearing a crown with the caption “Long Live The King.” It was a fake magazine cover in the style of Time magazine.
Remember Who We Are
The United States of America was formed following a revolution to declare independence from King George III and Great Britain.
We didn’t want to be ruled by a king then, and the massive protests in our country and around the world in 2025 demonstrate that people still value freedom, liberty, and justice for all, and will fight to preserve democracy.
Abraham Lincoln’s Words Of Wisdom
Abraham Lincoln has always been my favorite president due to his compassionate and courageous leadership during the Civil War. The words above his statue say, “In this temple, as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever.”

He wrote this one month before signing the Emancipation Proclamation:
“We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we said this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We, even we here, hold the power, and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free, honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless.”
Only time will reveal the absolute truth about Trump. Does he have an untreated mental illness that controls him to the point where he has lost his connection with reality and God, which is the cause of all the chaos, lawlessness, and cruelty? Or is he the stealthiest con man and showman who ever lived?

The New International Version of the Bible mentions the word “love” 551 times. Isn’t love the fundamental Christian value? History shows that kings or dictators who use hate to divide their people have never made any country great.
Spiritually, I believe we are all God’s children. That means Donald Trump, too. Perhaps the most significant part of his mission is to expose all the broken parts of our government that should have been fixed but were not. Let’s learn from the past decade of living in a divided nation before it’s too late. Take care of yourselves.
